Sublustrum News and Trailer
Official English trailer plus the public posts from announce day through the chapter-one playtest.
How to read this timeline
This page is a dated list of first-party Sublustrum remake posts, plus the official English trailer. It is not a leak blog. The finished game remains scheduled for Fall 2026; the playtest that opened on 4 September 2026 is chapter one only. When a Steam news post and a social caption disagree, prefer the Steam news hub for app 4151300.
Developer credit in coverage is Phantomery Interactive; Brickworks Games publishes. The 2008 original used the name Sublustrum in Russia and Poland and Outcry in the West. Comparisons of systems and story stance belong on original versus remake, not in this news log.
26 November 2025 — announcement and trailer
Brickworks and Phantomery announced the remake with the Steam news post “Sublustrum Returns in 2026, Reimagined.” The pitch: a complete 3D rebuild of the 2008 cult adventure, expanded and enhanced, with new puzzles and enriched storylines. You play a writer investigating a scientist brother’s disappearance and a machine that pulls him into a liminal space between waking and dreaming. Launch window: Fall 2026 on PC and consoles (consoles unspecified).
The official English trailer — Sublustrum – Official Trailer (2026) — went up on the Sublustrum YouTube channel as video XQrOykPQyYE. That is the only trailer this wiki embeds, and it is embedded on this page only. Wishlist and store copy pointed at Steam app 4151300 from day one.
12 December 2025 — inspirations
Steam news “Inside Sublustrum: Inspirations Behind the Game” described atmosphere as the design spine. The original project was conceived as an interactive companion to an Anthesteria album: dark ambient blended with neoclassical writing. Music is not background; each location has a sonic identity — a detuned piano in the professor’s apartment, Arabian rhythms in a desert, psychedelic guitar, hypnotic throat singing.
The same post listed film and architecture touchstones: David Lynch’s Eraserhead, Konstantin Lopushansky’s Dead Man’s Letters, Tarkovsky’s Stalker, Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, Alex Proyas’s Dark City, and Jeunet and Caro’s The City of Lost Children. Decadence, steampunk, and surrealism are the mood board. Treat those names as the studio’s own map, not as a claim that the remake is a licensed crossover.
15 June 2026 — 50,000 wishlists
Official channels celebrated 50,000 Steam wishlists. The post thanked people who followed the game and said more news, including demo or playtest details, would come later. It did not name a launch day and did not open a paid preorder. Wishlist math is a community milestone. It is not certification. Keep using the wishlist guide if you still need the Steam button explained.
29 July 2026 — FAQ
“FAQ Sublustrum: Answering Your First Questions” collected early community questions. Among the public points: a playtest or demo was coming, but no exact date yet (“the wait shouldn’t be too long”); the team did not want to spoil the slice’s contents in advance; the language list on Steam was the list confirmed so far. Story and puzzle changes relative to 2008 were acknowledged at a high level — the remake is a reimagining, not a shot-for-shot remaster. For a structured 2008-versus-2026 comparison, use original versus remake.
27 August 2026 — playtest dated
Steam news “Sublustrum Playtest Starts September 4” set the clock. The playtest would include the first part of the game. Players should visit the Steam page and click Request Access. The team asked for impressions after sessions and linked Discord. Separately, the official account had already placed a playable booth at gamescom 2026 (26–30 August) in the Games from Cyprus pavilion, Hall 03.2, stand F-030G, with a chance at playtest codes on the show floor.
That booth did not replace Steam’s request button. Details for everyone not in Cologne are on the playtest page.
4 September 2026 — playtest window opens
The dated start arrived. Chapter one became requestable. Access is still not automatic. The Fall 2026 full-game window did not collapse into September. Release date remains the page for the seasonal launch; platforms remains the page for Steam-versus-TBA consoles.
What is not on this list
Uncredited “leaks,” fake preorder storefronts, and invented YouTube IDs. Database SKUs for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series that the studio has not confirmed. Any claim that the finished remake is in players’ libraries. If a future Steam post names a day, a price, or a console, it should be appended here with that date — not backfilled into the November 2025 trailer description.
For actions instead of history: request the playtest, verify platforms, and keep Fall 2026 honest on the release date article.
