Sublustrum Updates Hub
Fall 2026 window, chapter-one playtest, platforms, and official news — not a launch tracker for a finished game.
What this hub tracks
Sublustrum is a first-person psychological adventure remake from Phantomery Interactive and Brickworks Games. The finished game is scheduled for Fall 2026 on PC via Steam and on consoles the studio has not named. It is not a shipped product. This hub exists so you can separate that seasonal window from the Steam playtest that opened on 4 September 2026, and so you can follow studio posts without treating database SKUs or leak calendars as official.
The 2008 original — titled Sublustrum in Russia and Poland and Outcry in the West — was a cult first-person adventure. The 2026 project is a full 3D reimagining with new puzzles and a wider story, not a texture-upscaled remaster. Until Brickworks names a calendar day, treat any “release date” that includes a number as unofficial. Use the release date page as the canonical summary of what the studio has actually said.
Fall 2026 is a window, not a day
“Fall 2026” is a season, not 1 September and not a week in November. Northern-hemisphere autumn usually runs from September through November, but publishers often keep a seasonal label until they are ready to lock certification, localization, or console submissions. Sublustrum has not announced a day, a week, or a priced preorder. The store page still reads as coming soon. Wishlist pings and playtest emails are not the same as a launch.
If you are comparing this remake with other 2026 adventures, keep the language precise: the playtest is a limited, request-only slice of chapter one; the full game remains scheduled for Fall 2026. Mixing those two sentences is how social posts accidentally claim the game is out. It is not. Details, caveats, and a short history of how the window has been described live on the Sublustrum release date article.
The chapter-one playtest
On 27 August 2026 the official Steam news hub posted that a playtest would begin on 4 September 2026. That date has arrived. The build covers the first part of the game — spaces, puzzles, and the opening of the Flickering World — not the complete campaign. Access is not automatic: open the Steam store page, find the playtest module, and use Request Access. Approval can lag even after the window opens.
During gamescom 2026 (26–30 August) the official account also pointed players to a playable booth in the Games from Cyprus pavilion (Hall 03.2, stand F-030G) and mentioned playtest codes at that booth. Those codes were a show-floor extra, not a replacement for the Steam request button. After you play, the team has asked for impressions in Discord. Step-by-step request notes, what “first chapter” means, and how this slice relates to launch sit on the playtest page.
Platforms, languages, and what is still TBA
PC on Steam is the only storefront with a live app ID (4151300). Consoles are officially unspecified. Some third-party databases list PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series as expected hardware; those rows are not SKUs from Phantomery or Brickworks. Do not buy a console for this remake on the strength of an aggregator page.
The game is single-player. Steam lists achievements as planned. Family Sharing appears on the store but is excluded until the finished product ships. Language support is separate from this wiki’s own locales: the game plans English and Russian full audio, plus interface and subtitles in several other languages. Platform, language, and feature caveats are collected on Sublustrum platforms.
Studio news, trailer, and the paper trail
The remake was announced on 26 November 2025 with the official English trailer. A 12 December 2025 post walked through inspirations (Anthesteria’s score as the original seed, plus film and architecture references). On 15 June 2026 the team celebrated 50,000 Steam wishlists. A 29 July 2026 FAQ answered early questions about story changes, languages, and a then-undated playtest. The 27 August playtest post and the 4 September window close the current public timeline.
That chronology, with the trailer embedded once, lives on Sublustrum news and trailer. This hub does not repeat the video. If you only need a store ping for Fall 2026, add the game from the wishlist guide. If you want to know how the remake actually plays before a longer session, start with getting started.
How to use these pages
Read the children in this order if you are catching up: release date (window vs playtest), playtest (how to request and what you get), platforms (Steam confirmed, consoles TBA), news (the dated paper trail), then the official FAQ (July 2026 answers plus what later posts changed). Bookmark the Steam news hub and the official site rather than screenshot accounts. When a day is named, the release-date article is the page that should change first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is the full Sublustrum remake out?
No. The finished game is scheduled for Fall 2026. A first-chapter Steam playtest opened on 4 September 2026. See the release date and playtest pages.
Where should I start in this hub?
If you care about timing, open release date. If you want to play the slice that is live, open playtest. Platform questions belong on platforms.
Does a playtest mean the Fall 2026 window moved up?
No. The studio has not replaced Fall 2026 with an earlier full launch. The playtest is chapter one only.
Where is the official trailer?
On the news and trailer page and on the [Sublustrum YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/@SublustrumGame). This hub does not embed it a second time.
How do I get a launch notification?
Wishlist the Steam app using the wishlist guide. There is no paid preorder storefront yet.
